After having studied for 4 (+3) years Architecture and Urban Planning, I have understood that the entire AEC industry can benefit A LOT from automation it is currently lacking (still). So from AEC I made my way through programming directly into Machine Learning and Computer Vision.

It was difficult. I've spent all my free time (and not free too) learning programming, participating in kaggle competitions, doing online courses, projects, collaborations, reading papers, attending all the AI-related courses of Politecnico di Milano. But it was amazing and fun too.

Now I'm working in a design industry (mostly fashion), automating various design and industry processes, often with AI algorithms. And I'm doing scientific research on the use of AI (especially GANs) in architecture and urban design.

I'm quite confident at what I'm doing, at the same time questioning and reevaluating most of the things. I have a lot to learn too, so I still spend my free time learning the new things that are coming up every day! And it's fun and I enjoy it :p
